Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me at snowdoniacounselling@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We  will talk about what your needs are, and if I have the right skills for  you, or if I can suggest someone else who may be a better fit.   Research shows that one of the most important factors in  how successful therapy is, is the relationship between the client and  therapist. So notice how you feel, how comfortable you feel and if you  can imagine trusting me.

Our therapeutic relationship begins right from our first session, where I bring my full professional toolkit and expertise to support you. This session is paid to ensure confidentiality and professionalism and there is no obligation to continue if you feel it’s not the right fit for you.

I’m happy to offer reduced fees for counselling sessions! These spots tend to fill up quickly, so you might need to join a waitlist to get started. In the meantime, we can definitely look into scheduling once a month sessions to start with. I want to ensure you feel supported while waiting for a more regular appointment to open up!

How does the sliding scale work?

A sliding scale makes counselling more affordable by adjusting fees based on your financial situation. I want counselling to be accessible, so fees may be set at various levels. Sometimes clients even donate sessions to help others who may be struggling financially.

If you'd like to discuss a sliding scale, just let me know, and together we can find an option that works best for you.    I offer reduced fee appointment slots on a trust basis, without requiring documentation.

The number of sessions you might need really depends on your individual circumstances and goals. I work with clients in both short-term (1 to 6 sessions) and long-term (3+ years) formats, so we can find the right fit for you. I’ll regularly check in with you to see how you’re progressing and whether we’re moving towards your therapy goals. Together, we’ll tailor the process to suit your needs!

  1. Reflect on Your Goals: Think about what you want to achieve in therapy and any specific issues you'd like to address.
  2. Keep a Journal: Write down thoughts, feelings, or events that you want to discuss. This can help you articulate your feelings during sessions.
  3. Be Open and Honest: Come ready to share your thoughts and feelings openly to make the most of our time together.
  4. Prepare Questions: If you have specific questions or concerns, jot them down so you don't forget to bring them up.
